The Berenstain Bears Show Some Respect (Berenstain Bears/Living Lights)

Product Description

'Honor your father and your mother,' Exodus 20:12 Even good cubs can fall into bad habits and Brother and Sister have gotten into the habit of sometimes treating their Mama and Papa with less than the respect they deserve. A shrug or a grunt or a 'I dunno' or 'who cares?' when asked a question or given a request is not how youngsters should speak to their eldsters whomever they may be!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story!, October 12, 2011
A funny and tongue-in-cheek look at the problem of respecting one's elders. Everyone gets into the act--the kids get a little cheeky with their parents and the parents take the grandparents for granted--good lessons for all, here. This is one of the Berenstain Bears' spiritual titles--part of their Living Lights series--and illustrates its lessons with Biblical quotations. If you can't stand religion or Bible quotations, this may not be the book for you. But, if like many of us, you are iterested in reinforcing moral lessons with religious principles, this series fits the bill.

What a great subject matter for kids these days. I have read almost every Berenstain book to my girls. This one was too dry, preachy, not funny. I am glad though someone is willing to write on this subject.

This book is well written just like all the other Berenstain Bear books. The only thing I wish was included was a definition or real showing of what respect is exactly. My kids enjoyed reading it and seemed to get the message, so maybe they don't need it spelled out to understand it.
